Khaliya Top trek
2026
The crown jewel of Kumaon. A gateway to the 360° Himalayan amphitheater where the peaks feel close enough to touch.
The Khaliya Top trail is a masterclass in Himalayan biodiversity. The journey begins at Balati Farm, where you enter a world of ancient, twisted **Rhododendron trees** and giant Oaks. As you gain altitude, the air thins and the canopy opens up into the legendary **Khaliya Bugyal**—a high-altitude meadow that stretches toward the horizon like a green velvet carpet. Here, the sheer scale of the Kumaon ranges becomes apparent, offering a silent, uninterrupted dialogue with the peaks of Panchachuli.

Summer Meadows
April - June: Sprawling green bugyals, clear blue skies, and blooming rhododendrons. Ideal for beginners.
Winter Snowfall
Dec - March: A white paradise. Knee-deep snow treks and pristine views of the frozen peaks. Requires technical gear.
The zero Point
Experience
While many stop at the Khaliya Top meadows, the **GoTrek experience** pushes further to the actual **Zero Point (3,500m)**. This is a jagged ridge-line that marks the end of the accessible trail and the beginning of the high-altitude wilderness.
360° Panorama
From here, you don't just see the peaks; you are surrounded by them. Nanda Devi, Rajramba, and the entire Panchachuli range form a massive white wall in front of you.
Photographer's Hour
We timed the Zero Point summit for the "Golden Hour," where the snow on the peaks turns a deep crimson-gold as the sun sets over the Johar Valley.
